Trained Singer Auditions
 

Auditions for paid singers and section leaders are held during May and June each year. Paid singers assist the director to prepare choristers in his/her section for performance.

The audition consists of singing five-note scales for tone quality, range, and intonation, matching several 3 or 4 note sequences of pitches after hearing them played on the piano, and sight-reading a passage from the planned repertoire. Singing a prepared art song or aria is also required.  An accompanist is provided or you may bring your own. Callbacks are held at the end of the first round of auditions.
